Check SSL Certificate
Enter a domain name to check its SSL certificate status, expiration date, issuer, and configuration.
What Does an SSL Checker Do?
An SSL checker connects to a website's server, retrieves its SSL/TLS certificate, and analyzes it for potential problems. It performs the same verification steps that a browser does, but presents the results in a detailed, human-readable format.
What Information Can You Learn from Checking SSL?
- Certificate validity - Whether the certificate is currently valid, expired, or not yet active
- Expiration date - When the certificate expires and how many days remain
- Issuer - The Certificate Authority that issued the certificate
- Domain coverage - Which domain names are covered by the certificate
- Certificate chain - Whether the full chain of trust is properly configured
- Protocol support - Which TLS versions the server supports
- Key size - The bit length of the certificate's public key
Common SSL Certificate Problems
- Expired Certificate - The most common problem. Generate a new free certificate at any time.
- Self-Signed Certificate - Not issued by a trusted CA. Replace with a Let's Encrypt certificate.
- Hostname Mismatch - Domain in browser doesn't match the certificate. Generate a new certificate covering all domains.
- Incomplete Certificate Chain - Server not sending intermediate certificates. Include the CA bundle.
